On developing your home page.

To develop your web home page for the Chardi Kalaa Server, you must be a club member. You will need to use your userid and password. Please ask for help if you are not sure about these.

A prototype home page should have been created for you. Using Netscape Navigator 3.0, browse this page by clicking on your name in the "Home Pages of Club Members" page. Edit this page by selecting Edit Document under the File Menu.

Netscape will ask you to save the remote document locally before it can be edited. Save in on your zip cartridge under the name Index.html.

You will now be viewing your home page in editor mode. You should see a different tool bar, with the red bar under it.After you have made modifications to your file, using the editing features of Navigator 3.0, your can save the file on the web server as follows:

Select Publish from the File menu. Navigator will probably ask you if you want to save changes to the document. Make sure the file name is index.html on the zip drive.

You should see the Publish Files dialog box.

Under Publishing Location, type:

substituting your own userid instead userid above. Type in your password and click on OK. Netscape will upload your file to the web server. Check by going back into browser mode by selecting Browse Document from the File menu. Remember to click on the reload button to see an updated version of your home page.
